Made my morning

October 14th, 2010

Every week I walk three dogs and they are a joy to be around. Usually I go to their house and they are waiting eagerly to be harnessed and walked, but today their owner had them leashed up and ready and waiting outside in their driveway. It really made my morning when I stepped out of my truck and saw their faces light up when they recognized me. It was too cute.

Here are the 3 Amigos

Nikky, Wrigley and Sable

Fall is in the air, perfect time to move..

October 5th, 2010

Ahhh the smell of Autumn leaves. I do enjoy this time of year, not too hot and not too cold. Perfect weather for walking dogs.

I recently sold my house and am in the process of buying another. When I was looking for houses, my main concern was a bigger back yard. I have five dogs, three are large, so the bigger the back yard, the better. Two months later, I finally found the perfect house. There is a plus as well, the previous owners had a big dog door installed. Even better! Not only that, but there is a park behind the house, with ten miles of walking paths..I feel I hit the jack pot on this one! I am eager to get out and start walking the dogs along these paths, get them used to their new surroundings.

I took my newest addition (10 month old American Bulldog) there today, to test the fence. I figured if any dog is going to play havoc on the fence it would be her. It stood the test. :) She was running and jumping, like a new born foal. It was pretty funny watching her. I am taking the little dogs over tomorrow, to check the bottom of the fence. When you have large and small dogs, the fence has to be perfect.

When it comes to my dogs safety, I am on it. I think my realtor thought I was a bit crazy as each house I looked at, there was something not quite right for the dogs. Yes, my main concern was for my dogs, their safety, well being and happiness.

I like to think that I bring this type of approach to my pet sitting business as well and I hope through small insights into the lives of my dogs, you the reader can see that that your pets  needs will be taken care of with the same type of dedication.

In the mean time…enjoy those leaves…

In Memory of two very loving family members

August 25th, 2010

As a petsitter and dog walker, I find myself becoming attached to my furry clients as if they are my own. I spend a lot of time with them and some of them I have been their dog walker or sitter for a few years now.

It is always sad when I hear of a loss of a family pet. This summer has been a rough one for some of my clients. I want to dedicate this post to two beautiful Labs from different families.

In Memory to Chippy a seven year old yellow Lab. He was the best when it came to walks. Even though he was well over a 100lbs, he never pulled me along. He and his sisfur Shana would just amble by my side, enjoying life and the scenery. He will be missed.

In Memory of Megan a 12 yr old chocolate Lab, who was a complete angel. Always eager to help you clean the floor up if there was food dropped. :) She was most content when there were plenty of belly rubs going around, plus a treat or two. She will be missed.
